It replaced a spreadsheet and a lot of phone calls. The line routes itself by who is on shift. The driver says the fare out loud while pulling away instead of typing it up at 4am. On Monday the week checks itself against the meter's export and the card reader's, and anything that disagrees turns into a line on the driver's screen naming the job and the difference.

Nobody marks a week finished by hand. It closes when nothing is open and the money has arrived.

Why me

I installed cabinets before I wrote software, and I trained in manufacturing engineering in between. I know what a shop drawing is, why a takeoff goes wrong, and what it is like to be asked for a price with a tape measure in your hand.

That is why I start by watching the work. Software written from a feature list delivers what somebody could already describe. The change worth the most is usually the one nobody thought to ask for.

AI where it earns its place, and nowhere else. It is very good at turning a spoken sentence into a filled-in form. It has no business deciding what the tax came to - that gets worked out properly, every time.
